Remember the reports in Bild and Algemeine Zeitung two years ago about Greeks supposedly being lazy skiving early pension seeking bums? They made the front page till German terms were imposed on Greece and by extension on the other nations in difficulty- including Italy which is by no means a small potato type of nation.
Now we learn from the OECD that Greeks always worked longer hours than Germans, receive fewer holidays, and are in fact the longest working EU workers.
Something similar is happening with the reports re money laundering. Germany knows full well that banking laws were brought fully within EU rules in 2004, its own bankers were the ones who gave the OK for Cyprus to join the EU precisely because it had reformed its banking and company law so as to exclude off shores, tax evasion and laundering.
As soon as Cyprus signs the loan agreement that Germany wants they will change their tune. We have seen the movie before. The question is if people have the cojones to respond in kind, by refusing to buy anything made in Germany or which benefits German capital. They can shove their VWs and Siemens wind mills up their arshlochs.
Who do you think the Ancients Greeks were referring to as "barbarians" Nikitas?
Itn't it these bloody huns?
The savages who caused the death of millions in Europe?
I think we better get out of this stupid club called Europe, and let Turkey join them. They have more things in common.
