STUD, there is no need for this troll post to GiGs. It was an interesting discussing until you started getting personal AGAIN. Back off!

I agree. More than 75% of Cypriots are Greek and Stud along with a few Charlies start trolling every time anything Greek is mentioned  Can we please have some normal discussions without your anti-Greek crap? And GIG... you are also trolling with your "Greeks are better in everything" crap that you have to write in every post you make... seems to me you only post here to annoy Stud and a few others :x

That's rather excessive, Sotos. You eventually came to the same conclusion as I did (I left only a clue, similar words of c, k, g, for cuñado, κουνιάδα, Gambros which leads to genea and anything to do with birth-relatives). Just because I was elliptical, without the detailed explanations, it doesn't mean it's a "troll". I only posts things of interest to me - and if those things happen to be about the Greek world, what's wrong with that? There are many scholars (non-Greeks) who specialise their interests in this subject; study it for decades, sleep eat drink Greek. Do you know any such people? I do. You should hear some of them talk about Hellenism. Are you going to accuse everyone who is interested in Classical Studies of trolling? Just because we have a hate-filled virus (stud) that attempts to destroy a healthy subject, it doesn't mean you abandon your own interest and post instead about computers or smartphones or football!

I'm not ashamed to say I love the Greek world and it interests me enormously. But as I said, I'll be cutting down my posts and then stop (shortly) for at least several months - so you can have some peace.

If your interests are all about that one topic then you should frequent a forum that specializes in that one topic. I am sure there must be at least one! That is what I do for specialized topics that I care about. This is a more general forum so respect the rest of us who don't want to sleep eat drink Greek! And what you do is trolling when the message is "anything good is either Greek or has its roots in something Greek"... how are non-Greeks supposed to take such kind of arrogance?

Now that quote, of yours, is a troll because I never made such a statement. The arrogance comes from your own inferences.

Sotos, I'm sorry if you think a Cyprus forum doesn't need anyone who is interested in the Greek world. Unfortunately, in the real world that has its parallel to those people who want to destroy any signs of Greek identity from Cyprus.

- Some Brits are doing that in the south and some Turks are doing that in the north ...

As I alluded earlier, each character has their specific preferences. Their loves, hates and their obsessions.

Perhaps, you're really fed up with STUD and you think it's easier to ask me to leave ... (But, there's a real world parallel in that line of thinking too, and it's never been good for Cyprus.)

Given that it’s a CYPRUS FORUM then what is “NORMAL” is all things CYPRIOT and all things of CYPRUS, not Greek!

For that you should go to Athens, climb on the Acropolis and have a good wank over your alleged ancestors!

cuñado comes from Latin.

All the same, the Spanish language has a phenomenal amount of purely Greek words in their language.

idea, psicología, estratosfera, zoología e.t.c

I didn't say that you made that exact statement. I said that was the message of many of your posts... and it is ;) The forum has many people interested in the Greek world including myself... but we have other interests also. The Turks are trying to destroy Hellenism with genocides and ethnic cleansing... and that is the only way to destroy Hellenism. How can any Brit in the south harm our identity? You believe that any Greek will lose his identity because Stud or anybody else wrote some crap in a forum? You are way overestimating them. Their trolling is annoying but they are harmless ;) So both you and them should stop the trolling and stop annoying each other and the rest of us!! 8)

A lot of things Cyprus are Greek. If you want a Cyprus Forum without anything Greek then go join one of the ex-pat forums along with all the other foreigners.
