Olympics set to drop wrestling...

Postby georgios100 » Thu Feb 14, 2013 8:09 pm

IOC contemplating to drop wrestling from the 2020 games... WTF?

Here is a quick list of events that should be dropped:
Rythmic Gymnastics
Handball
Dressage (horse dancing)
Women's field hockey

Feel free to add to the list.

Who gives a f*ck about modern pseudo-Olympics.

We need to revive the ancient Hellenic Olympics, where only Hellenes were allowed to participate.

Yeah! And let’s hope they’ll include a Hellenic wanking competition so we can send you and ELAM along! 8)

We should clean up the gold... 8)

Greece needs to revive the Ancient Olympics and keep them at home.

Do they still have that synchronized swimming? Because that should definitely go.

Greece always wanted to "keep" the games at home...
The cause is loosing more and more momentum with bailouts, corruption allegations and who knows what else.
The IOC tends to loose billions if they give up the games.

If Greece refuses to provide the flame... that would be a disaster beyond measure.
Someone might say Greece was robbed from it's most lucrative resource - the games!

Can Greece refuse IOC from dropping wrestling? Keep dreaming...

The games are always a major financial loss (billions) regardless of who hosts them so Greece cannot possibly be the only host. In fact the one time they let her host them she went down soon after!

Have you any idea how many times the flame goes out and then someone just grabs a lighter and fires it up again?

I would think the permanently Greece based games could be profitable if IOC provided the funds to maintain the venues and security.
Additionally, advertising and promotional sponsors would chip in to support officiating, drug testing etc. This can work my friend.

Flame problems? I am sure they can fix it... somehow.
