The Games must be "open" to all peoples of this planet, friends or foes.
After all, the original games were meant to call a truce of war hostilities between the Athenians vs the Spartans.
This was the reason, athletes were competing naked - as athletes - not as Athenians/Spartans. The spectators cheered the winner as the best man regardless of his birthplace.

Who does not understand the nudity of the athletes, will never capture the spirit of the games.

Unfortunately and sadly, today, the Olympic Games are about fame and $$$$$$$$$... the spirit is gone!

'I don't give a F*ck whether you give a F*ck or not.

As to sport, any sport that requires a judge for artistic merit seems a bit iffy to me

You can have your pseudo-Olympics, but the Hellenes should boycott them and have their own Games.

 Athenians and Spartans were equally Greek though.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ancient_Olympic_Games
Only free men who spoke Greek were allowed to participate in the Ancient Games of classical times. They were to some extent "international", in the sense that they included athletes from the various Greek city-states. Additionally, participants eventually came from Greek colonies as well, extending the range of the games to far shores of the Mediterranean and of the Black Sea.

I believe, back then, Greek origin meant "civilized people" rather than Ethic... the international intention was always in place, right from the start.
Needless to say, during those times, there were the Greeks and the barbarians (according to Greek historians). We, now know, there were many other civilizations in existence (China, Latin America, India etc) but never got in contact with the Greeks due to vast distances/oceans.

Do they still have that synchronized swimming? Because that should definitely go.

Yeah, synchronized swimming should be scratched...

Generally, everybody thinks only men competed in the games... not entirely true. Women were involved as well.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ancient_Olympic_Games
Participation in the classical games was limited to male athletes except for women who were allowed to take part by entering horses in the equestrian events. In 396 BC, and again in 392 BC, the horses of a Spartan princess named Cynisca won the four-horse race.

The Heraea Games, the first recorded competition for women in the Olympic Stadium, were held as early as the sixth century BC. It originally consisted of foot races only, as did the competition for males. Some texts, including Pausanias's Description of Greece, c. AD 175, state that Hippodameia gathered a group known as the "Sixteen Women" and made them administrators of the Heraea Games, out of gratitude for her marriage to Pelops. Other texts related to the Elis and Pisa conflict indicate that the "Sixteen Women" were peacemakers from Pisa and Elis and, because of their political competence, became administrators of the Heraea.

I don't give a f*ck about the modern Olympics mainly for the reasons others have stated about the corruption of the ideal by money.

I would in fact rather have an honest revival of the ancient Olympics as a celebration of the ancient Greek world, though with male athletes being naked some might form alternative views on who is the best man.

Efforts are made to revive ancient games. Not exactly what is required...

The Nemean Games were one of the original four Panhellenic games, which included the Olympiad. They still take place in a sleepy village in the Greek Peloponnese, but unlike the modern-day Olympics, they are free to attend, branding-free and anyone can compete. In short, they are the perfect antidote to London 2012
