More or less in every country. Sucking up to archbishops, patriarchs, popes, dalai lamas is like the norm for politicians as the hoi polloi, generally speaking, still tend to be religious. But as a Kemalist anachronism, for whom the the norm has always been to suck up to (corrupt) military men, oblvious to the reality (no surpise here) that the Turkey of the 21st century is for its politicians to kiss the butts of imans! But of course your mindframe is still in the 90s and the hope there will be a coup in Turkey between now and the end of time and the EU will then declare you a "European" country.

...i thought this question was answered?

First the Turks worshipped Mohammed and built mosques. Then they replaced the prophet and worshipped Ataturk and built his statues everywhere. Now they are told they have to worship Mohammed again and so are building mosques in the north. And the poor TCs are getting it in the neck because they are still stuck worshipping Ataturk and are now accused of not being religious enough. It must be very confusing.

Lordo, you silly boy. The poor TCs are now accused by Ankara of not being proper Muslims. Why is that? You raise the issue of the role of religion in public life now you run away from it. Now do tell us how many mosques are going up in the occupied areas? There's a good chap.
