Oh yeah! almost forget.....where's the UN, or Greek Cypriot national guard for that matter in stopping Turkey (the so-called occupiers) from laying a HUGE DENT in the So-called Northern Territory of the ROC.

Face the truth, the Greek Cypriot have lost it - Screaming, shouting, whining, complaining, moaning....Jesus, when are yo guys going to give up and face the music - Northern Cyprus is TURKIYE!

We, Turkish Cypriots, have Succumb to it (just take a trip around Northern Cyprus and see how much development, hotels, roads, universities and money has been spent by turkey), you should to? It's let painful to love Turkiye than to believe that it will join the EU and hand over the TRNC to you guys.

Turkiye's future, as similar to Japan, India, China and the Turkic Union based countries is not in Europe, but Independent. We, unlike the Greek Cypriots, are not Pawns of Germany. Watch Britian soon leave the EU - it's in the headlines!

You are funny, MrH ... you try telling the crew of the heavy lift ship, the Fairplayer, who have been holed up in Tasucu harbour for the past week due to poor weather, that "kktc su temin projesi" is almost finished and you run the risk of them agreeing that you're very funny... :D

Turkey Cuts Euphrates Flow, Affecting Its Neighbors
Published: January 14, 1990

This item appeared in the paper as a stand alone photograph. Caption information is provided below.

President Turgut Ozal of Turkey cut the flow of the Euphrates River yesterday to divert its waters to a reservoir, raising fears of tension with Turkey's downstream neighbors, Syria and Iraq, which will now receive 75 percent less water for one month. Commando forces stood guard on heights in the reservoir area, such as the Ataturk dam, while 10,000 people watched the ceremony at the dam site. (AP)

This time was different from anything it had attempted before and the repercussions of which may bring unprecedented catastrophes onto both Iraq and Syria.

Violating international norms, the Turkish government recently cut off the water supply of the Euphrates River completely. In fact, Ankara began to gradually reduce pumping Euphrates water about a month and half ago, then cut if off completely two weeks ago, according to information received by Al-Akhbar.

read the article, it is most disturbing...

...indeed, one would have hoped that the power the water had for Cyprus, would be a pipe-line to Peace, across the Middle-East; such was the dream...

The article through the link is recent. Search the net and you will see other articles published a few days ago.

Turkey is cutting water to Syria (for obvious reasons) and Iraq, to blackmail them over their dispute over "Kurdish" oil.

If anyone is looking for a reason not to buy Turkish water or be dependent on them, here it is.

I went to Anamur, in Turkey, not to long ago and the size of the project is incredible - I am pretty sure it's not only for the transportation of Water, alone!!!

I have it on good authority that aside from water coming through the pipes to Cyprus, there will also be an express train on two tracks, 6-lane highway with bike & pedestrian paths, and a kebap shop at every 100 yards.

I can see why it is taking a little longer to complete the whole project.

I guess they are using the mantra "Nothing is finished until everything is finished"!

...funny bill, because he calls himself a Cypriot. funny because he appears to have given up any sense of his own obligations toward Humanity as a Human being, funny because he is willing to be Turkey's pawn, because he says the "Greeks" are pawns to the German Bankers. funny because, if it is the case, he, and "they" are mistaken again, Turkey is no saviour, Turkey is worse, what price "Greeks" pay for the same follies, the "Turks" will undoubtedly find a way to make ''Cypriot Turks" pay even more.

...truth is, there was water, and it (the Karpas) represented a significant wealth to Cypriots before it was drained dry, without any management. what makes it likely that in fifty years, this regime will have solved that problem; what is their worry, they say, problem solved, so long as "they" are "Turkish" enough. (it is no wonder that this leadership has come under such harsh criticism from Erdogan).

Well RW, who knows but to get back to the massively important matter of water, and this water transfer project...

A good friend tells us elsewhere...

Jumbo Maritime's heavy lift ship, the Fairplayer, has left the area, with "kktc su temin projesi" far from finished, (despite MrH's claims to the contrary).

The ship and its crew are now steaming westwards at 14 knots to a destination given as Ceuta in Morocco, at the other end of the Med.

In the absence of any other info, the significance of this move would be guesswork... but that prob won't stop some having a guess.

...absolutely no management, (I know I am repeating myself), like in the other cases we have seen of ineptitude, incompetence, ignorance or sheer dishonesty, it is likely that the Bills remain unpaid.
