Knowing how you all like pickies. Here's another one.

This is the harbour at Tasucu, the alleged site of the fabrication of the drinking straws for "flop of the century".

During the worst storm to hit this part of the Med for years, a "furtana" which led to cancellations of the Tasucu to Occupied Kyrenia ferry, but which the Mushrooms will tell us didn't stop the start of the cross-sea part of this fabrication of a project...

Anyways back to real water projects.

It has to be said again, that it is of course better to conserve scarce water supplies and to use the available resources wisely and to recycle water where possible. It would also be good husbandry to let the rivers flow to recharge the stressed aquifers.

Something that should have been added to this thread back in August was news back then of the opening of the Republic's latest de-sal plant in Episkopi, with its capacity to produce 40,000 tonnes of water a day, with yet more de-sal plants in the pipe-line.

This new plant means the Republic now has five de-sal plants with a total capacity of 220,000 m3 a day, (with yet more de-sal plants in the pipe-line.)

A little calculation... 220,000m3 a day times 365 days = an annual production of 80,300,000 tonnes a year. ... of real water of the wet and drinkable type.

Two reminders ...

That the claimed aim of the alleged "kktc su temin projesi" is to carry 75,000,000 tonnes a year to the Occupied Areas. A figure that is remarkably close to the Republic's annual product from the five de-sal plants, but in the "trnc" case the water is of the mirage kind.

That the EU wasted 25,000,000 Euros of Assistance Funding on trying to build a de-sal on the northern coast, a project which had to be abandoned because "trnc" refused to allow experienced firms from the Free Areas to work on the project. A de-sal plant that could be producing 25,000 tonnes of real water a day.

Well Plonko, according to the over-riding Turk to Turk policy of "trnc", there were no alternatives. ...

Shame cos the CYs up there could have had a very real near 10,000,000 tonnes of water a year from the EU's de-sal plant, still never mind, there's always the mystical promises of "trnc"'s Flop of the Century eh...???
