It is feasable to run a pipeline from Turkey to Cyprus; it's down to political will and there are several Turkish companies capable of doing it. Just to clarify; 370 bar pressure is nothing special on a flanged or welded pipeline. We just finished testing a flanged pipe system at 3540 bar which equates to over 55,000 PSI. We've put pipelines under the sea and through the desert operating at 420 bar; I work on the measurement and control systems.

You underestimate our prejudice! Water from Turkey is considered polluted and thus unsuitable even for use in the fields.

The people here would sooner die from drought than touch anything Turkish but don’t blame them… it’s the result of 450 years of Ottoman experience!

is there any truth in the fact that roc is prparing to buy water from lebonan. and if they are are they going to use the same contractor as the north.

Bill: The pipe is just high grade carbon steel with RTJ (Ring Type Joint) Flanges that have been torqued up. It is the highest pressure I've worked on but 450 bar is quite common. We are just commissioning a Hyper Compressor at the moment that operates at about 42,500 PSI so as I said anything is feasable.
