If I was stupid and took the trip to Mersin to take pictures of developments first hand and posted them you would still refuse or belittling them, you do not want to believe anything positive to do with the Turkey or the TRNC, so you have to make do with the pictures provided by Kibris Newspaper, have a look today there a ship carrying the special piping necessary for such an a big operation.

The Turkish Press are full of reports about this "Project of the Century", the press of the Occupied Areas are packed with pickies of "dignitaries" of "trnc" photographed in front of the ship docked at the port of Occupied Famagusta with alleged "special piping" for the task.

No one is asking VP to take a trip to the Mersin sea-side to get the pictures of the factory being allegedly built there to make the pipe-work, if this factory existed, if this project to transport water from Turkey by pipeline was anything other than pipe-dream propaganda from "trnc" and Turkey... the press would be full of the pictures of the factory.

Thanks for that Pyro. From which we can now say that this is what is really happening...

A new dam is being constructed in Mersin to meet the increasing demand for water for tourism there and there's no connection and there won't be a connection with CY in the foreseeable future.

The existing dam at Occupied Panagra is being enlarged as part of a belated and inadequate project to increase dam capacity in the Occupied Areas. The water management by the Illegal Regime of "trnc" has been disastrous in the past and characterised by over-abstraction from the aquifers, so much so that the coastal aquifiers have been ruined by salt-water intrusion. The largest aquifer on CY is the one under Occupied Famagusta district, totally ruined by over-abstraction.

The pipes on the ship at Occupied Famagusta are most likely to be used to upgrade a part of the woefully neglected water supply system in the Occupied Areas.

... but that doesn't stop the Illegal Regime and Turkey from taking all the above, the dam works in Turkey and in Occupied CY, ductile iron pipes on a beach in Mersin and the arrival of the ship and making a propaganda connection as the "Project of the Century".

If there was any forward planning by "trnc" and Turkey, any serious attempt by them to come to grips with water supply in the Occupied Areas, they would install PV powered desal plants as Pyro suggests above or ones powered by an electrical connection from Turkey.

Well, well,well... here's a nice bit of media manipulation by "trnc" and Turkey.

The press of the Occupied Areas are full of images showing images of very long lengths of large diameter plastic pipe floating just off-shore.

All the reports are showing this as evidence of the recent start of the sea-crossing section of "Project of the Century".

This is one that appeared in one paper and we'll find the same pictures in other press up there...

This is a screenshot of the Firat company's web-site, the contractors for the project, which has a few comments about the project, amongst which is the claim in headline that it's been a success story... CYPRUS IS SUPPLIED WITH WATER...!!! ...

... and now compare the hills in the distance, the same frigging hills that appeared in today's editions of the press of the Occupied Areas... They, "trnc", are passing off library pictures as current news...!!!

Why do you a foreigner care about such things if not to stir up negative propaganda against Turkey and the TRNC, all you have to do is wait as we are waiting for the south to extract natural resources and transport it to Europe via Crete, if both projects dont happen then its egg on the face of everyone concerned. Why dont you concerne yourself about the economical problems faced by the UK and the possibility that it will put to referendum opting out of the ho so special crumbling club called the EU.
