Stupid? Cyprus has water, Cyprus has the brainpower to organise themselves and act responsibly. again, "Greek" spies, that is the reason why no comprehensive plan exists to manage water island-wide, that is the plausible answer you suggest why millions were wasted by the EU.

why worry you say? because this Ignorance, the belligerance and the helplessness, will lead to failure. and your willingness to accept the "charity" of Turkey demonstrates that the so called TC, are not a People, nor do "you" demonstrate a love for the island's integrity, as such the regime is a farce (as a Constituency, as a Nation, and as a State). without even the attempt at acts of Sovereignty, toward Turkish Cypriots, and toward all Cypriots, a betrayal.

...indeed vp, we'll wait to see what Turkey wants, "Turks" to serve, "Greeks" to hate, and Cypriots (for Cyprus) to deny even an existence.

VP, it is neither jealousy nor fear. From the engineering point of view it is interesting. From the purely Cypriot point of view it is a negative move, it creates one more dependency on the "motherlands". There is plenty of water on the island if we wanted to use our heads to conserve and produce. Having water brought in simply postpones us using OUR heads. And that might be the point, to prevent us using our abilities to deal with a problem. It is like giving a man with an injured leg a better crutch.

Or it could also be seen as GCs wanting to maintain the upper hand hoping we will beg for water if the TRNC should run dry and accept GC demands. You appear to have not figured out that we are not trying to be independent of Turkey in fact it you the south we want to be independent of.

This from a divided economically bankrupt south Cyprus which takes 40+% of peoples savings...Turkey appears to be the better choice dont you think Repulse.

talking of sharing water is very interesting. it goes back to 1964 when our water pipe was very close to a gc village and they broke into it to water their land with our drinking water.

we certainly know how to share water in cyprus.

vp, even in disarray, the south represents a better way of life, which at "your" best is not even close to equal; but that is not the point is it, unless Turkey is a better choice over Freedom.

What you offer is not what we want add to that a bankrupt state and very hard times ahead you really are not in a position to call the shots repulse...what you have is not what we want and now you do not have the means to upgrade your offer.

Just to include a link to the New York Times which covers "project of the century" ...

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/04/04/world ... d=all&_r=0

... and to include a couple of quotes ...

...The pipeline, promoted as the first of its kind in the world, is experimental. Some observers wonder what kind of difficulties its builders will encounter, or if it will even be built...

...Engineers outside the project are intrigued by it. H.P. van Rossen, manager of installation analysis at Saipem France, a construction firm that works in subsea oil and gas but is not involved in the water project, said the pipeline was “a novel concept.”...

but most interestingly when execs of the firms allegedly building "project of the century" were asked to comment...

..."Executives from the joint venture declined to speak about the project."...

Now why oh why would they decline to comment...???
