...in any case, Turkey is taking water, not necessarily "hers", and selling it. The question is, what is water, and when exported for profit, what regulations is it expected to respect? It appears that the Republic recognises that this water can be effectively shipped, and processed, to Cyprus. Thus, we, the public can take it as a fact; its possibility. The water "belongs" to some body, it is yet to determine whom, and for who's benefit. Only Turkey, that is to say the "Turks" (because it is hard to see what the people of Turkey get out of this venture either) so far have benefited, for reasons beyond my understanding it seems, because in the years its taken to build, so little comes from Cyprus, or Cypriots, toward its realisation.
No one has had a drop of water yet to drink, thirst, water for people to drink, is obviously far from its primary goal.
...so yes, they be clocks ticking, taxes are paid, and tariffs, it's normal for Cyprus to raise these concerns.
