...i have thought about that, there are the two variables, depth, and density, which cannot be ignored.

pressure is the governor. the difference between fresh water and salt water is 1000 for 1029 kgs so not that different. depth certainly and the fresh water has higher depth.

One can build anything they want, no matter how impossible it may be to build, but if what you build doesn't work, then you didn't build it to the expected results. Same goes to this pipe project. It is not working to the promised level, therefore, by all accounts, the project has failed.

At 280m depth? I don't think so.
But even if it were so, leaks here, leaks there =serious crack somewhere= loss of pressure and sea water coming in.

ehem ehem, how much work have you done working with pipes and water pressure. 280 meters is under 500 pounds per square inc. the pressure washers that you use to wash a car uses 130 bar compared to 28 bar at 280 meters. you really have no clue on what you are talking about.

...yes, pressure washer, exactly my thought, like the soap which is drawn into the water, so too the sea into the pipe.

so if you have a pipe with water pressure and it cracks does the water leak out or the air leak in. ffs have lost all our senses. it aint rocket science.

let me give you another example. oil is lighter than water. when there is a pipeline with oil in the water and the pipe cracks, does the oil leak out or the water leak in. there are some mischievous children here who just dont understand nofink.
