This "kktc su temin projesi", this allegedly Billion TL "project of the century" - it's all really a little curious.

For instance, at the mo there are 4-5 tugs involved in the sea-crossing part.

For weeks, they've stayed within 10kms of the Turkish coast off Anamur.

Below is a picky of one of those tugs.

This one of 150 tonnes tonnage...

(The largest is of 2500 tonnage)

Look let's be realistic here. When has turkey ever had a project of this nature .can anyone give me a factual example of a country laying this length of pipe carrying water . Perhaps they should assist .

it will my friend. and when it is done, people will wonder why nobody else though of it. here is an interesting comparison.

1800 years ago we had tracks for animals put pull load on in syria and steam power to raise the barbers chair in egypt. it took them 1600 years to put the two together.

you lot are that charlui sitting under the pair tree with the mouth open waiting for the pair to ripen and fall into your mouths.

The way I look at this is the Turkish government after all these claims can't in the future just not come out with the goods . Surely erdogan must have some level of humidity . You can't just make consistent claims and not produce the goods . It's just not good politics . His party is still in government and he will still try to rule behinds closed curtains . I have seen erdogan manipulate and give false promises .what politician does not do this ? They are all the same however he would want to make a mark on history . He actually believes he is a sultan or a caliph and for him to do this would leave a stamp on history. He will achieve this not for the love of TCs and their well being but for the love of his ego

he was very lucky that in 2004 gcs did not call his bluff. we will never know whether he meant it or not. and the next time will be same. in effect he will be allowed to keep 37.5 percent of cyprus free.

Back to topic Lordo and just for you, I wonder how thirsty mainlanders will react when they realise their precious water is being piped to the parasites (Erdo's word, not mine) in the "trnc".

Yes but does reality really matter, Jerry...???

Aren't we often in Promised Land, Jam Tomorrow Territory with these Turkish ambitions...

... and silly buggers like Boggo just lap up the Tomorrow Never Comes Plans.

Isn't that right Slimeo...???

Anyways and for what it's worth, here's the Ain't Awhooshing Reality in the first bit of the Zaman report...

"... Due to a long period of drought that has exhausted Turkey's reservoirs and prevented the desired amount of domestic electricity production, Turkey will have to increase its energy imports, said Energy Minister Taner Yıldız while speaking at a press conference in Ankara on Thursday.

“This is not a desirable situation. Our rainfall has plummeted and we are unable to come up with the amount of energy we need from our hydroelectric plants,” said Yıldız

“We are seeing the lowest levels since 2007. While a quarter of our energy was produced by water, now we are only producing a fifth from water sources. Regarding our domestic sources, this is a loss which we are forced to compensate by using natural gas and other sources,” said the energy minister. ... "

... not that it will make the slightest bit of impression on the Mushrooms.

They are saying it clearly, read what the energy minister said again:

"While a quarter of our energy was produced by water, now we are only producing a fifth from water sources. Regarding our domestic sources, this is a loss which we are forced to compensate by using natural gas and other sources,” said the energy minister. ... "

They NEED gas, and that is what is driving this water pipe thing. The energy dude is corroborating what Davut said last week, reported in an Athens daily and furiously denied by Lordo, but obviously true: they intend to trade water for gas, and this was said yet AGAIN by Erdo. And them being bazaartzides Turks they have to cloth the deal in high falluting bullshit terms. Water for peace etc.

They need the gas that bad they can trade their buggering off with gas. That would be a half way deal, not the absolute best but more interesting than water and electricity promises crap as if they were talking to some neanderthals who have no idea about plumbing and lights. They really are ignorant about the realities of the world around them.

oh dear nigidagimu when did you see me furious or deny anything about water being exchanged for gas. lets face it your need for water will be far greater than terkeys need for gas. you will be on your knees begging but the price will still be quadruple or better still ohdruple for being so stupid for decades.

when it comes to destribution, the pipeline is near dengtas statue roundabout. only about to miles from metehan. fancy that. but to have any water you will have to get on your knees and beg. not like charluis pretending you have to mean it.
