A knife is much better than a G3. It is so heavy than any soldier holding one is commiting suicide.. Zastava was not as heavy and thats the biggest advantage, not to carry an elephant on your shoulder.

No M1's in 1999.
Basic training: Zastava.
Standard army issue: G3.


M1s were in some storage ... they were not used for training or anything else.. they are probably still stored somewhere!

I don’t recall any M1s! :?

What we had looked like British Enfields although they called them “Martinis”.

But anyway, this was my favorite at the time…

They should also keep some zastava guns in the Cyprus Museum when we will have one.

I agree, it's more enjoyable to kill with a knife. :mrgreen:
