How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Hang on a minute boys... let's be clear please... there is no negotiating cos Turkey undertook to implement the Ankara Protocol SIX flipping years ago...!!!

... and it did so without any conditions attached, end of.

... even Enlargement Commissioner Mr Fule seems to have run out of patience with Turkey and he is reported today in the Fam Gazette as insisting that Turkey open up its ports and to normalise its relations with CY... no ifs or buts...!!!

yes Bill,

Mr fule has been a little slow on the uptake regarding Turkish membership, but patient, he is.

Its bizarre that Turkish officials are calling 'bluffs' and putting conditions on their accession process when they should be implementing and doing what they are obliged to do as part of the process they signed up for. I wonder how many times things have to backfire before Turkey 'gets it' or gets stuffed!

OHHHH BOYYYYYYY!

It doesn't state that Turkey is obliged to solve the 'cyprob' in the protocol VP but many of the chapters, which are frozen, would require Turkey to resolve the 'cyprob' to fully harmonize herself with the EU aquis. To be eligible for full membership to the union, Turkey must resolve the 'cyprob' as well as recognise and ratify many other treaties, such as the law of the sea for example.

the protocol must be implemented in full for Turkey to continue with the process and this is the first thing which should have been done, 6 years ago.

its not a negotiation, [give us this and we will do that] as Turkey would like to have it. Turkey is obliged as a candidate country or she should officially withdraw her application and be done with it before the EU ends it for her..

I would never dream about going to a job interview and telling the interviewer that I will answer his/her questions and open myself up for assessment and evaluation only after he/she gives me something. Something as compensation just in case I fail to meet their standard and secure an offer.

Exactly Turkey has chosen the TRNC over the EU.

Are you completely oblivious as to what the Ankara Protocol is VP...??? ... as you are in practically everything else.

Is that the secret of your Intransigence, to feign absolute ignorance or some kind of stupidity...???

... so let us remind you that the Ankara Protocol is an Unconditional Undertaking made six years ago by Turkey to open up its ports and air-space to the Republic's ships and planes.

So are you, rather like Turkey and Bagis the Clown, still having trouble understanding what an Unconditional Undertaking is...??? ...!!!
