last time they did this with money from the saudi family they spent 3 million pounds and got a building the size of an average house. the saudi hancho arrived to open it and realised he had been fleeced and left without opening it.

Without claiming i know everything that happens in the occupied my Kibrisli friends told me that the mosques in the areas where real Kibrislis reside are always empty and that they import imams from Turkey. I don't remember exactly whether they told me they don't have even one Kibrisli imam-or whether no one of their young ones becomes imam anymore.
What I know for sure is that the majority of real kibrislis don't give a shit about religion contrary to the Kypreoi who were always backwards in this aspect.

So I think the above moves might be targeting the settlers.

Let's be fair here. We 've had the IERATIKI SCHOLI producing priests from the late 60s. OK that's of tertiary level but still...

Following lobbying from our Armenian friends in the States, the Illegal Occupation Regime has backed down on plans to use the 14th Century Armenian Church of St Mary's (the Sourp Asdvadzasin Church and Monastery) as a turkish religious studies centre.

The complex had been restored with funding from the UNDP .

The USA Ambassador in CY and UN officials were critical of the Illegal Occupation Regime's attempts to back-track on agreements to restore the place principally as a Church.

One account is that the Spokesperson for Turkey, Eroglu, turned up at the UN in New York trying and expecting to hawk his Two Countries Rubbish, instead of which he was told in no uncertain terms by UNDP that it was totally unacceptable that the Church was restored with UNDP money and that the Rubbish Regime of "trnc" was trying to lease it to the "east med uni" for a turkish religious centre.

The Church will now once again be a place of worship for Armenian Christians...

what a good idea. i will suggest that in the next meeting to include all churges in the planification for magnification of the trnciation of the land.
