Archbishop of Cyprus Chrysostomos has condemned a recent attempt by unknown perpetrators to bring down a Muslim Mosque in Denia village.
The incident happened on January 19 as restoration work was underway at the old Mosque since the beginning of January.
The Archbishop, in a written statement, has expressed deep regret for the incident and hope that the perpetrators will be arrested.
As the victim of continuous destruction of Christian monuments in the Turkish occupied areas of Cyprus by the Turkish forces, the Church of Cyprus stands up for all fundamental rights and principles of EU law, the statement said.

...for the record.
is there a mufti or immam which expresses this view?
@ halil. i think the point you miss is that the illegal regime wants the recognition of a State, how are these acts credible toward that aim?

Unlike Lordo we don't have the benefit of a private line to his Eminence but his condemnation of the act was a genuine one and it's one shared by many in the Free Areas...
Here is the statement by the ruling AKEL party on the matter...
..."AKEL condemns the cowardly enemies of Cyprus who acting under the cover of darkness desecrated a Turkish Cypriot religious site in the village of Denia. The nationalists are once again trying to separate rather than unite. The local community of Denia and the whole of Cyprus have condemned them for the hatred of their rhetoric, but also their actions. These actions and rhetoric give an excuse to nationalist circles in Turkey and within the Turkish Cypriot community to project their actions as supposedly proof that our people, Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots, cannot live together in a free, independent and united homeland..."
Now, would Lordo and/or VP post for our benefit a similar statement by the likes of Eroglu or Kooscous or any statement by the "ruling" UBP party following the utter destruction, the razing to the ground and the throwing of the bones of the deceased in to the garbage as happened at the cemetery of Occupied Lapithos just a few days ago please...

if you need a private line to know what the old fart is thinking your problems are more serious than first realised my friend. that he does not give a shit is common knowledge. more common than your average karpazianobullaraghi donkey. so obviously you have not quite reached that level yet.

O theos tzi psyshi tou....=(Only) god and his soul... (know the truth)
On the other hand you must know that priests as well as imams and all those religious leaders allover the globe DO CARE for whatever keeps their lambs within their control. And they support each other, don't be surprised to see an imam supporting a priest and vice versa. The reason is, they are all in the same BUSINESS.
The business that says: after a stupid religious person dies, s/he is very likely to have made a will donating them some properties to save his/her soul.
