What is needed for recognition?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Who wants to be recognised anyway? What is wrong with our lifestyle in the North? We have no shortage of tourists, banks, money, fuel, clothes, food, supermarkets, airports, sea ports, hotels, restaurants of all sorts, parks, universities etc. etc. We have more and more Turkish, English, Russian and other foreign nationals setting up businesses or retiring and living in the North every year. The only bother is having to fly through Antalya or İstanbul to Europe - and even that does not bother many who have got used to it for almost 40 years!

So what does recognition mean? Give Greeks back land we fought hard for all these years so that they can demand it becomes a part of Greece by the likes of GIG and Krupetos? I say give them nothing! Instead of being part of Greece (in your dreams  ) We can live in comfort for another 40 years while Turkey gets even stronger economically, politically and militarily, by which time the TRNC will be annexed by Turkey by a popular vote of the TCs living in North Cyprus (probably 90% mainland settlers by then!)...

Absolutely Bozzo... more Brothels and Mosques than schools, knee-deep in Rubbish and Sewage spread across the Occupied Part of Nicosia, household refuge dumped on the beaches...

We rather rot in our own rubbish than the sewer that would be created for us by you swine! I say again fluck Greece, fluck Cyprus Republic and fluck EU - no one in the TRNC gives a toss, and that includes the silly exaggerated comments made by the likes of you. I suggest you forget about the strike of the municipality workers or the number of mosques and worry about the churches on your side. You should concentrate on the rest of what I wrote above and leave the gibberish aside!

BigOz does make a point, but he did not address the main point in what VP is thinking about. Stolen GC Properties!

VP and his ilk are all about capitalizing on their "Spoils of War" loot. All the cheap stolen GC properties they have gotten will make them very rich if there is a recognised partition north or a settlement based on 2004 AP, which they are both the same. I already stated that a cousin's husband who has stolen GC property was telling me very recently, that he could have sold "his" stolen GC land in the north for £30,000 pounds per Dönüm just before the 2004 AP referendum, but now, after 8+ years, it is only worth £3,000 per Dönüm. So you can see why VP and Lordo start salivating in the mouth when ever they talk about recognized north or another AP settlement. It has nothing to do with security or not wanting Greek spoken around VP's children in the north. Those are all red herrings. The main issues is keeping their stolen GC loot, to be made legal once recognized.
