The image of the guy impaled on a stake! There are also many images of another guy who was crucified and nailed to a cross. Such images are covered in textbooks across the EU and much of the rest of the world. To the best of my knowledge, children in Great Britain, King Henry the eighth who beheaded his wive's. Lets not forget slavery and prisoners and traitors being beheaded and put on display at the tower of London. There is also the Holocaust. That image is pretty tame compared to other images I have seen from historical events.

If you are referring to the way that Ottoman is being portrayed from a historical perspective though, one does not need to look further than the present day and trace backwards. Turkey has until recently been issuing threats, she is also in contravention of international law and has been for a long time. Turkey issues threat towards countries in its neighborhood that only want to exercise their rights under international law. Also, as recently as the 70's there is documented evidence of Turkey committing other gross violations of human rights in Cyprus, not just property theft and ethnic cleansing, but pillage, rape, murder etc. Going back to the turn of the century, there is documented evidence of a genocide of the Armenian kind, there's Smyrna and going back even further, I am sure you get the picture. Turkey has a track record, so ottomans impaling people or Greek Cypriots on a stake in the 1700's would not come as a surprise to me, it probably occurred as did the over events I have outlined in the first paragraph and their accompanying images. History serves its purpose in guiding us towards a better, more prosperous and safer future. the thing is to learn from it.

Maybe you would just prefer history to be erased or for the world to not have a memory, or convince yourself that they are all lies instead.

Can we now scrutinize the other side for concerns about the effect this has had on TC children for the past 50 years?

why bother. the greek cypriots are poisoned to death with hatred and fascism. there is no point as the chance of reconciliation is gone and is not coming back. you stay in your part the tcs will be in theirs.

The only case I know of personally is that of a teacher who knows both Turkish and Greek. She teaches Greek to Turkish speaking children.
She told me they are extremely clever. They hate everything Turkish, and they want to forget all about their Turkish language. She said they have no difficulty learning Greek. but they all have difficultly in spelling the Greek "theta" they tend to spell it "tita", but she shows them how to put their tongue to spell it right.

Guess what is the REAL Nationality of those kids.

Hint it starts from K.

Is this what you call brainwashing or assimilation?

How can anyone brainwash a child who just arrived in Cyprus?
You have not yet given me the nationality of those Turkish speaking children. Wasn't my clue good enough?
