Cyprus National Popular Front announce presidential candidate

ELAM, the National Popular Front has announced their candidate for the Cyprus presidential elections.

The party manifesto proclaims that the movement promotes a strict anti-federalist solution concerning the Cyprus dispute, a zero-toleration anti-immigration policy against illegal immigration, and Hellenistic education.

There candidate is George Charalambous, who was born in the village Lympia in 1966, is married and has three children.

According to their press release, Charalambous graduated from the Technical School of Nicosia and served in the Special Forces National Guard.

The candidate was announced at a gathering near the Ledra Palace checkpoint.

ELAM, the National Popular Front is a nationalist movement founded in 2008. As of May 2011 it has been approved as a legal political party. On December 28, 2010, ELAM organized a march against Turkish Cypriots and migrants.
