23 CY Trades Unionists Arrested in "trnc"

Postby bill cobbett » Fri Dec 28, 2012 4:17 am

Various sources in the Occupied Areas are reporting that the continuing actions by the CY workers of the Occupied Lefkosa Municipality entered in to new territory today with the arrest of 23 union members, including the union president, during protests outside government buildings, including the "parliament" building.

Roads are also reported to have been blocked by the strikers who added more waste to the piles of smelly household rubbish that have plagued the streets of Occupied Nicosia for months.

Several people were injured and needed hospital treatment when police" forced their way in to the union building without "warrants".

The "police" response to today's protests is described as being heavy-handed and "brutish".

The president of the strikers is reported to have declared that the striking CYs were "...ashamed to live in "trnc"..." and that the action would be extended in to funerary burials and the water supply.

Unionists have called for a General Strike for later today, Friday 28th.

Two more pickies of CYs being roughed-up by the thugs of "trnc"...

Oh dear, no loyalty amongst criminals a?

However, I couldn't decide if this was parental abuse or a spoilt child behaviour.

Looks like their saviour has turned against them. Oh well no peace for the wicked!

I think Turkey should come down very hard on these spoilt little parasites. Really show them the HR that Turkey preaches

No sympathy this end.

It's rather naive of bill cobbett to presume these malcontents are "Cypriots" simply because they hate or are ashamed of the "trnc" (now). Plenty of Turkish Settlers are disgusted with how Turkey is (now) mismanaging their illegal occupation of Cypriot-EU territory. Be careful what you wish for bill; rather than remove the Turks, these "CY"s would just as happily storm the rest of Cyprus for fresher freebies.

This is a right-wing dominated forum so I shouldn't be surprised by some of the responses here, but truly they are despicable. These Turkish Cypriots are our brothers and sisters and they deserve all the solidarity we can muster. All your identity is pure ego. I wouldn't mind being in union with Turkey if it were a progressive country. My issue is with imperialism not culture. The more culture I can call my own the richer I am. As a Greek Cypriot I am trying to stake my claim to Turkish culture, not get rid of it. I am stronger and better for being both Turkish and Greek, for being Cypriot. I am not a traitor, I am a new man.

Speak for yourself. Just because Turkish ass appeals to you, does not mean we all want it.

Turkey a progressive country    Yeah, ok, now let me get back up off the floor.

And yet by not voting Malas you are prepared to let Anastasiades give Turkey and the Imperialists everything they want in return for, oh, nothing!
