Up for sale is this lovely 1963 Triumph Herald 1200 Convertible. The perfect Christmas present for anyone who loves classic cars!
It has up-to-date road tax and just passed its MOT with no problems.
This is a genuine convertible. People often think that all Heralds are convertibles because you can unbolt the roof on the saloon. This is the real thing though, where the hood folds flush with the bodywork.
This is a very genuine car. It has been engineer-owned for several years and would be best described as a very good unrestored example. It has been well-maintained and any repairs, tweaks, made as required. As such, it’s in very good condition, but not concours. Basically, you could happily use it as is for many years to come, or treat it as a rolling restoration and get it superb with no real difficulty. It could do with a respray at some point, but polishes up to a nice shine as is.
The engine runs well and pulls strongly. There are no rust issues and I have ready access to a two-post lift, so anyone interested is welcome to see the underside of the vehicle. The car is very original, and has a few practical and cosmetic additions such as an ignition isolator, Herald 13/60 wheel finishers, Vitesse alloy bumper caps, and a gorgeous wood-rimmed Mota Lita steering wheel, adding up to a very attractive, fun, cheap to run and easy to maintain classic car. Also comes with tonneau cover.
The car can be registered as a classic here if you so wish. We never bothered (mainly because we like the original “CD” number plate so much!)
Realistically priced at €3,750 ono. Genuine reason for sale.
Also comes with a spare Herald 1360 saloon (minus its bonnet) for spare parts, or even an engine/gearbox upgrade if you so desire.
