The Empire Strikes Back!

Congratulations to Britain on the newest addition to its Empire - "Queen Elizabeth Land". :D

- All obtained without a single drop of blood being shed ...

Is this the way forward for conquering the rest of the Universe?

Don't get too excited, dearie, just a renaming of a current part of of the British Antarctic territory....

Then again if aquiring land without blood shed and renaming it with the name of the reigning m monarch is accpetable to you, perhaps you would agree the Brits should have renamed Cyprus as Queen Victoria Land.....

....waits for the bang....

Plenty of places already named after the German Queen of England during her heyday expanding the lustful Empire.

It's the brownosing Mr Cameron that is blithely blundering his way (forgetting she is Elizabeth II :) ) and ignoring not only the blood of a few penguins and seals but the Antartic Treaty. Especially the bits that say:

Article 4 – The treaty does not recognize, dispute, nor establish territorial sovereignty claims; no new claims shall be asserted while the treaty is in force;

and

The main objective of the Antarctic Treaty Secretariat is to ensure the interests of all humankind, that Antarctica shall continue forever to be used exclusively for peaceful purposes and shall not become the scene or object of international discord.

So, since the Antarctic Treaty Secretariat headquarters are in Buenos Aires, Argentina, .............. we do await the British big bang! :D

The British have no territorial claims in Antartica - just a renaming of some territory already under British control in accordance with the treaty. Certainly no change to use.

And what's in a name? A rose by any other name?

The Christmas message from the Prime Missionary of our Christian Great Britain, Cameron. :)

- The British troops go forth like Jesus, bringing Peace and Safety to all of us ....

.... his message makes reference to the New Testament Gospel of John while urging the public to remember the sacrifices of UK troops and emergency services.

'Prince of Peace'
"The Gospel of John tells us that [Jesus] was life, and that his life was the light of all mankind, and that he came with grace, truth and love," the prime minister says.

"Indeed, God's word reminds us that Jesus was the Prince of Peace.

"With that in mind, I would like to pay particular tribute to our brave servicemen and women who are overseas helping bring safety and security to all of us ...
