Do Lillikas' proposals for life without the troika add up?

Postby tsukoui » Fri Dec 14, 2012 2:20 pm

If it were possible I'm sure Christofias would have tried it, but maybe he still has cataracts...

Here is that British imperialist rag, the Cyprus Mail, take on it...

What do people think? Is it possible to escape the troika?

if the description of the scheme in CM is correct (and I would like to see Lillickarse's own description of the scheme) I cannot see how it would work.

I knew LieLickAss was as bent as a nine bob note, but I hadn't seen that post before, so thanks for pointing it out (even if you did screw up the link!).

I used to praise Cyprus because even its right wing nutters were anti-imperialist. Now I'm not so sure.

Are we sleepwalking into joining NATO if we let DISY win?

What can DISY possibly offer Turkey to overcome the Turkish NATO veto?

In February 2011, the House of Representatives voted to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Partnership for Peace programme, the final step for Cyprus to join NATO. The following parties - under the initiative of Nicos Anastasiades- DISY, the DIKO, the EDEK and the EK supported the resolution. However, President Demetris Christofias (AKEL) vetoed it, stating that such membership was not in line with his vow to achieve a peace deal with Turkish Cypriots. President of DISY Nicos Anastasiades stated his intention in Cyprus immediate application for membership in NATO by 2013.

That doesn't answer my question.
