How sorry I feel for the economic situation in Cyprus!

Postby The GeoChipre » Thu Dec 13, 2012 4:02 am

I have been living abroad for almost a year now and when I left, everyone I think agrees on this the situation was bad and it was getting worse.

Now being very honest I couldn't even imagine that it would evolve in the worst EVER! What happened the last two days outside the Parliament is a sign that the Cypriot society has reached its limits.

I think politicians regardless of any ideology...blue, green or red, from the establishment of the Republic have proven themselves at least unable to put a barrier on the growing and greedy banking system in Cyprus. That of course is not the only reason, if one adds the fact that our state has always been extremely "generous" with all its citizens and a group of foreigners who from time to time and for numerous reasons have enjoyed a financial benefit from the Republic of Cyprus then one can easily understand that the "financial fairy-tale" wouldn't have a happy ending. Now all Cypriots unfortunately have to pay an unjust price and this brings a rightful reaction in my opinion.

Simply because I would like to see my island prosperous again what can be done to reverse this dreadful situation? The idea is to make expenditures fair. Some suggest that this will happen when a solution to the Cyprus Problem is reached. Utopically for me it for some of us the answer to everything. Others suggest that this depends on the Social Security Fund. If you have savings there you can rightfully receive financial aid...and now Im waiting for your opinion!

This country needs a revolution to clear out the dead wood, the old boys club the elite few who live like lords whilst the rest of us work to feed them.

We need new blood, there has to be someone amongst the educated Cypriot society that can take on this role. Failing that we are all doomed to the same shitty problem 10 years down the line with no future for the kids.

Anyone offering for the position???

The problem is that the new blood is not allowed to get involved because the elites will never allow them to.

All we get is the same thing over and over.
