Some arsehole in China thinks he is clever by plagiarizing one of Yahoo’s Mail logon pages to steal user’s names and passwords and then proceed to God knows what illegalities on the victim’s computer!
So if you receive an email in Yahoo that looks like this…
Title: "Yahoo! Alert"
Sent To: undisclosed-recipients
Dear Valid User,
This is for your own safety to avoid your account closed, you will have to verify your account by Sing In To Yahoo!. We apologies for any inconvenience.
Thank You.
The words “Sing In To Yahoo” (<- note college dropout typo) is a link where unaware people can “logon” to and thereby send him their email account details!
So just blow it away because Mail providers would never send something like this and the other giveaway sign that it’s bogus is anything mailed to “undisclosed-recipients” without your full name and details, as well as the bogus URL as seen below:
This is the genuine Yahoo Mail logon screen URL…
https://login.yahoo.com/
and this is the bogus URL:
http://fdjdsjnsjjasas.3owl.com/
You can click on it to have a look… just don’t enter your details in the second one.
Regards, MP.
