Now you are becoming paranoidal bre gardash. In the RoC there are teachers being paid by the RoC to teach dressmaking/tailoring, flower arrangement, Judo-Karate, house repairs, pottery making, whathave you. Not even one is a member of OELMEK. Each Union has a specific kind of members, for example those working at the Cyprus Telecommunications Authority (CYTA) have their own Union and those who are working at say "primetel" which is another Telephone company cannot join although most of them do exactly the same job as those of CYTA. It's the same everywhere in the World.

Now you may say that it is unfair for you not to be able to join OELMEK, however in a democratic country you always have other choices. For example you may try joining PASYDY (Pancyprian Union of Public Servants) or the other 2 large Unions PEO (if you are a leftist) or SEK (if you are a rightist).

If I were you I wouldn't join anyone Knowing that
a)there are not many people like me for the Union to care for, and stand by me protecting my interests
b)I would have to pay a monthly fee for nothing.

i am not asking to join a political party. this is a union and racism in an organisation which calls itself a union which is in the business of looking after workers rights is criminal according to the eu laws. and the government that encourages it or turns a blind eye to is is equally liable. it will come back from eu with a decision and then the government and the union will be taken to court for causing paranoia in tc . because of this i may never be able to work again. it is driving me to depression every five minutes. but for liberal people on this forum or in the land at large to also turn a blind eye drives a wedge between the communities like no other. it takes us back when we were left to suffer in the hands of eoga.
