Here...

ARTICLE 87
1. The Communal Chambers shall, in relation to their respective Community, have competence to exercise within the limits of this Constitution and subject to paragraph 3 of this Article, legislative power solely with regard to the following matters:-

(a) all religious matters;
(b) all educational, cultural and teaching matters;

really/
so which one does the union fall under. Educational cultural or teaching - i dont think so. you will find it under true human rights section look closer.

please somebody explain how such an illegality can exist in the eu. does it exist anywhere else. not forgetting that this tc has an eu passport and is the citizen of the country. now which other union in any other country will not allow a citizen to join it on race grounds.

Bollocks! :roll: A TC cannot join the GC teaching union (and vice versa).

Why did you reject Makarios's proposals in 1963? :evil:

Why did you reject the UN proposals in 2004?

What started out as a UN PROPOSAL, turned in to a Turkish blackmail Demand by the time the voters got to it.

You must have thought we were born yesterday!

In a ironic way i wish we had. the whole purpose of that change was to acheive enosis. if we had you would have been as bankrupt as greece.

oh dear but you are as bankrupt as them per person that is.

so you got your just deserts, there are a bit diet but never mind, so enjoy.

About the illegality of not being allowed to join a union on the grounds of race. still waiting for a reasonable explenation. but more importantly how has the eu accpeted this.

Because I didn't want to legitimize what Turks started in 1974.

Looks like it's for your own protection:

PEO had a membership from all ethnic groups in Cyprus. In 1958 the Turkish Cypriot nationalistic organisation TMT launched a terror campaign against Turkish Cypriot members of PEO, killing the journalist Fazıl Önder and attempting to kill the head of PEO's Turkish bureau, Ahmet Sadi. Following those events, most Turkish Cypriots left the union, and PEO's members since then have primarily been Greek Cypriots. The PEO is affiliated with the World Federation of Trade Unions.
