I'm moving to the outskirts of Nicosia shortly and been told that presently you cannot get Engish satellite TV - Only options are TV down the internet. This may be a problem as presently not sure how the internet speeds will be or even if we can get internet (perhaps with a dish)? as the location is a little remote.

A friend tells me there is a way of getting TV in Cyprus off a different satellite - Intelsat?? & with a special receiver & a 1 metre dish it will open up all the BBC's, ITV & 4 free to air. Does anyone have this system / receiver locally?

Not had much luck locally, but did find a company in Spain that is offering to ship a satellite receiver preloaded (so just plug & play), which will read the intelsat satellite as free to air. They tell me only a 1 metre dish should be required in our location. Before I spend my hard earned - does anyone know anything of this or know of a recommended local satellite installation company that I can speak with? Thanks
