yes and but in a free and democratic society FB are fully entittled to exercise their legitimate democratic rights not to give them a platform..

BS and you know it.

Is it?  FB are a private entity and they are not stopping GD promoting their views: what they are doing is saying that they are not prepared to allow GD to use FB to distribute them........

True. But for more than a year they allowed Syriza, its PMs, its members and its supporters to distribute THEIR political platform and attacks against the GD. And they even allowed the political campaign of SYRIZA "Leme OXI sti Chrysi Avgi" to be spread through their site. Who are they to promote a campaign against an elected party of the Greek Parliament and against its 400,000 voters?? If they have the "democratic right" to allow the criticism and the slander against anyone, they also have the democratic OBLIGATION to allow the voice of the other side to be heard. In other words, giving a platform to someone who calls someone else a Nazi, a Fascist, a Criminal, a Racist and not giving a platform to the victim of such attacks to answer and defend himself, is straightforward Stalinist-Goebbelist tactics, not a democratic practice. So, lets forget all about democracy and simply say: They banned them because they wanted to and because they could. Fair enough. Its their site and they can do whatever they like with it. But lets not mix democracy with such practices.

P.S. I suppose it is the "democratic right" of regimes like that of China to ban FB altogether??

Why are we arguing about a third party "regulator" which has gotten too big for its banker-capitalist boots?

GD went with the flow and joined but the expected happened where you cannot control your "friends" and you do NOT want to be associated with some "friends" as they will drag you down to their level (happened) - so GET OUT!

- Go back to normal HUMAN contact!

I have a profile but I very seldom post anything. I don't trust it. Let alone some bloody ZOOSK shit has got into my profile somehow and I receive all sorts of stupid messages. But I enjoy old pictures uploaded by family members. :D

But, like you said. If I want to contact anyone I don't need to do it publicly. I can e mail them or go and meet them.

AS was pointed out above GD and GD mps were not barred because they were a political party but because some of the views that they presented were in the view of facebook in breach of facebook rules concerning Racism and violence . SYRIZA on the otherhand did not break the rules, which is why SYRIZA i still there.

I repeat FB does not have an obligation to carry such stuff.

That you are a GD supporter otherwise explains oh so much about you, in particular your particular type of jingoistic nationalism which has so filled your head that you have no room to consider the fact that the rose tinted version of the hellenistic world may be the product of propaganda rather than truth.

And that’s exactly the reason I never joined… couldn’t care less to follow anyone!

...as of the moment FB banned them i.e., two days ago and based on the ridiculous explanation they presented. FB helped me realise that GD MUST have a strong presence in the Greek Parliament of today. Thank you FB.

P.S. As for my "propaganda" in respect to Hellenism etc, don't blame me. Blame the sources I link you to to contradict your propaganda. Am just a simple minded person and I have to depend on what specialists, historians, university professors etc support on various issues and on hard historical evidences. The privilege to try to rewrite history based on possibilities and probabilities and speculation is all yours.

Let me for a moment accept that for the sake of the discussion. Who preserved, developed and passed those "older elements" to you and to the rest of Europe in the form into which they were finally incorporated to what we call the Graeco-Roman civilisation? The Eskimos?

http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/400413/20121101/neo-nazi-golden-dawn-mps-attack-migrants.htm

posted already but cogent to this thread as it might be one of the factors FB considered, with MP's evidently being directly involved in the violence.
