Motherland? Greeks don't have a motherland little puppy.

They've got Turkey haven't they? :?

No, it's πατρίς, not μητρίς. Simple enough even for an ES graduate. Maybe not.

Indeed. The old origins of Bulgarians are Turkish (proto-Turkish). But the ones Bordering with Greece presently are largely of the Greek tribe of Sarakatsani. The area was the former East Romylia which was predominantly Greek until annexed by Bulgaria.

And yours under the same logic. We (Cypriots) have also been under the Ottomans for an eual period of time as Greece. And before that we have been on and off, under the Arabs and the Persians and the Phoenicians. Greece did not go through any other long term occupation prior or after the Ottomans with the exception of the Roman. But the Romans were cousins in blood and with the same culture (Greek) weren't they?

So, what does the above make YOU GR? Phoenician? Persian? Arab? Ottoman? Kilintziros? Greek? What exactly? Don't tell me Choirokoitian will you?

Greece my friend in not something material and can not be balanced against money. Greece (Hellas) is the HIGHEST ideal ever.

And since you are very good in history (even if you pretend otherwise some times) I am sure know that, as the ancients used to say, poverty was always Greeces closest companion. Nevertheless, poverty did not stop her from achieving marvelous things through the millennia. Its these marvelous achievements that through the centuries, have made so many so envious and so hateful, but also so many more so keen to get under her wings or even to just be identified as Greeks in spirit and culture, even though not being Greeks by blood.
