Gas for Peace?

Postby Demonax » Mon Nov 05, 2012 5:54 pm

It has been suggested by one Turkish forum member here that Turkey will withdraw its troops and settlers from Cyprus and allow for a united island in exchange for a share of the island's future gas and oil revenues.

So how much should Turkey get?

... as long as it's a very small barrel of CY Olive Oil... bordo will find a use for it.

... but seriously boys and girls, it ain't just the Turkish Agent Bordo who is saying it... it's been suggested a few times over the past few months by a former US State Dept Rep whose name i forget, from memory something like Pillock, who may have been leaking a possible Anglo-American angle on this to the press, ... so be very wary chaps, be very wary indeed.

this reminds me of a meeting betwen luciano rothstein and massaria. luciano says masaria claims that the whole newyork territory belongs to him. to which rothstein replies he does not claim it he is telling you it is.

my friends when it comes to resouces that have to be shared they simply have to be shared fairly. with a thousand miles of coastline compared to your 100 miles i suspect they may accept 10 to 1 split in their favour if you are nice.

you guys are like a jackal telling the lion the kill is yours. now i know you are in the eu and that makes you bigger but only in your minds. germany has no army and last time i looked italy and france were not very brave and kept changing sides depending on who was likely to win.

when it comes to greece i suspect they cant afford the bullets.

ahhhhh of course there is the new found friend israel who has no occupied lands and total true human rights.

of course it is the basis of christianity itself that somebody will come to save you when you need it.

fortunately for you there is a good example that you should have learnt who you can trust and so on. but alas i am afraid some people can never learn.

Turkish delusion at its finest! The length of Turkey's coastline entitles it to exactly zilch of the resources of Cyprus under international law. Or anywhere else in the Eastern Med for that matter! And there is very little that Turkey can do about it realistically. Bluff and bluster is all Turkey can muster these days. And the more Turkey threatens the more impotent it looks...

at this point it is appropriate to play the song rik used to play to remind the tcs that turkey will never come to their aid. i do feel it is my duty to post this now just to complete the circle as it were.

The ROC should give turkey a big fat villo, end of. And fir as long as the TCs remain supportive f the occupation regime, they can share tha villo with them.
When the UK officially conceeds th falklands to Argentina a well as its EEZ, then we will consider sharing ith the TCs. Ntil then ankourka.

What has the mighty Turkey done so far to prevent Cyprus from exploiting its reserves? Let us examine the facts. Oh yes. It dispatched a rust-bucket to find oil off Cypriot waters and then gave up after a few weeks. It then dug a few holes in the occupied areas then gave up. It's laughable. The truth is Turkey has been slapped down by the EU and the US and there is bugger all the Turks can do.

Do you know of any natural resources that we TCs will have an abudence of in the TRNC just about the time you get your oil/gas out? Which can you live without?
