Its made not difference whatsoever only highlighting that Turkey does not recognize the "RoC" in its current shape regering to it as the GC administered south Cyprus.

The EU Presidency of Cyprus has enhanced the legitimacy and diplomatic prestige of the ROC within the EU and its institutions. That is why Turkey was so opposed to Cyprus assuming the EU Presidency. In that sense, the EU Presidency of Cyprus has been a major setback to Turkey and its attempts to isolate the Republic within the EU.

have they stopped laughing yet then.

The joke is on Turkey and it's stupid and misguided attempt to 'block' the Cypriot Presidency. Did anyone take any notice of Turkey? They just laughed at the sheer arrogance and then politely told Turkey to mind its own business...

...it is still a failure in Turkish diplomacy. and it is Turkey, once again, that hurt itself.

no rw. how can you say that. it is going to be another 10 years before they can join for good reason. do you really think that 6 months will make any difference to the negotiations. if anything i suspect the turks are having second thoughts about joining and using cyprus as an excuse. we will find out more when this period is over. will they restart the negotiations or just play games. not long left to go and we shall find out.

How true, because no one knows what "south Cyprus" is. They ONLY know where Cyprus is and that it is in the EU club as a full member.

...dude, Turkey made a pile of threats, they were all ignored, it is Turkey's credibility which was harmed; nothing to do with negotiations.
