I know that they are all made in China ... even iPads are made in China, but I usually prefer to buy a known brand because I feel that this way I am certain that I know exactly what I am getting. With those no-brand ones I can't even trust their descriptions ... for example the Momo Product Description says " 9.7 inch IPSscreen, 16:9, Resolution: 1024*768" ... 1024*768 is a 4:3, not 16:9. I am having trouble to trust a company that can't even write the features of their product properly...

I don't own one yet (I used to have a 7" tablet) but I'm going to buy one before returning to the UK in December...

Something likethis one perhaps...

Specs are really good for the price ... Only the battery seems to be not very good. If you buy it or another such tablet let us know how it works! What was your 7" one?

If you two are going to be discussing lengths, then get a room :)

Tablets are only good for farting around with, no serious work can be done from them. They are easy internet/email/games devices.

I remember when I was a child in the pre gameboy era I would buy handheld video games that could play just one game! A tablet might not be as versatile as a computer but there are still a ton of things you can do with it... and some of those things can be done better on a tablet than on a PC ;)

I am thinking about getting a tablet for the girlies. If we go down that route our choice will be apps driven as we will principally be wanting specialist apps suitable for our girlie with a PDD, and at the moment that probably means iPod. I am not sure about win apps but with win8 and the Surface coming out (the full blown version not RT) that might be an alternative to conisder.

but bearing in mind the specific use will an unbranded tablet do the deed?

It really is Apps driven.

Not sure what you're comparing it with but how many other tablets have you seen that have a Keyboard/mouse dock and so easily convert into a laptop?

Plus... it's a Lenovo! 8)

Same operating system - just an older version (Ice Cream Sandwich) as opposed to Jelly Bean on say the Pipo....

So apps are irrelevant...

Well... how about the Pipo....?

And a keyboard would cost you £8 so you'd still have £150 in your pocket!
