How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

When you can't eat fish anymore from your own coastal waters, or swim in the sea on your own beaches, I think you will see how serious the matter is.

Yes and little by little we learn just how serious the matter is and it doesn't help that "trnc" isn't revealing the real extent of the problem...

A friend posts a picky elsewhere today of the scene at a beach near Occupied Famagusta which gives an idea of the huge scale of the pollution caused by the incompetent Rubbish Regime of "trnc".

It's location is given as the "aqsa" or "doctor's beach" and comes with reports that tourism is naturally badly effected with loads of cancellations.

The black stuff in the photo is the heavy fuel-oil that has seeped in to the sand.

Massive job to clear and treat the effected beaches, one caused by the incompetence of "trnc" who should come clean about the scale of the problem, admit it isn't up to dealing with it and seek help from such as the EU.

But do the Anatolians eat fish and swim in the sea? From what I know, most of those who were brought to Cyprus as settlers had never even seen the sea till they were brought here. So why should they care? As for some Turkish Cypiots like Lordo and VP, well, those don't give a damn as long as they are....protected by the T.A.

I'm afraid the good old English saying of

Couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery

Comes to mind here.

By now the place should be crawling with eco warriors, volunteers, UN, EU, any body and everybody helping clear up this mess. It happens everywhere else in the world so why not here.
Its shameful, totally shameful, I'm appauled

You are referring to free/civilized parts of the world. Famagusta is under Turkish occupation, remember?

But it also shows you:

1. The hypocrisy of all the institutions and organizations you mentioned.
2. The incompetency of the present CY government which was not able or, rather, didn't even think of raising hell internationally about it.

...quite frankly, Turkish Cypriots as a constituency, should run their own affairs. but they are not, aren't they? as for Statehood, not to be confused with statehood, this is mute, Cyprus is an island after all, and it is not England (or Turkey, or Greece) which gave Cyprus, and Cypriots, Freedom; we owe our debt of gratitude to all Mankind.

...the rubbish on the streets, the filth in the water, and now this disaster, are a reflection on the Turkish Army, they make a poor representation of the Turkish People, not just "Turks" with this corruption.

...sadly, this event is ignored simply because it is too complicated to explain, and "small" when measured by demographics.

Wasn't help in this situation declined because priority Turkey was coming to help?

Just shows northern pigheaded ignorance to me.
