The Rubbish Regime of "trnc"

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Yes, not only is the Incompetent Rubbish Regime known as "trnc" incapable of keeping the Occupied Part of Nicosia clean... it's also incapable of keeping some beaches up there clear of rubbish...

As this curious story reported in kibris gazetesi shows, some people have to take it in to their own hands to sort out the problem...

The story in kibris gazetezi is headlined

( Two tourists running from morning till night to clear trash from Şirinyalı coast )

A couple of overseas tourists arrived at a beach near the Occupied Village of Vasileia (Bασιλεια). This is some 3km west of Occupied Lapithos.

Expecting to find a nice beach for a swim and a sun-bathe, instead they found the beach full of rubbish.

Being public-spirited, environmental sorts, they spent much of the day clearing the beach of rubbish, filling refuse sacks with the stuff before enjoying a well-earned swim and chill-out on the beach.

Here's a bit of the story for turkish-speakers...

... and here's a picky of the beach-clearing...

This and the photo below appear in today's kibris gazetezi...

... in a piece which questions environmental awareness in "trnc" and that talks about the large-scale dumping of rubbish in "trnc" on roadsides and vacant land in towns that causes what the writer calls a major environmental pollution with insufficient penalties.

For turkish-speakers, here is the first bit of the article...

Ding Dong Ding Dong Ding Dong Ding Dong Ding Dong Ding DongDing Dong Ding Dong Ding Dong Ding Dong

Oh Gawd... it won't stop, Ding Dong Ding Dong Ding Dong Ding Dong Ding Dong Ding DongDing Dong Ding Dong Ding Dong Ding Dong, must have broken it.

Another load of Rubbish from "trnc" for you VP...

There's practically daily complaints about the rubbish that "trnc" is incapable of dealing with in the press of the Occupied Areas.

This complaint appeared in haberkibris this weekend...

Occupied Kazivera (Καζιβερά), is up on the coast to the north of Occupied Morphou. The villagers up there complaining bitterly about the failure of the "authorities" of "trnc" to get rid of rubbish and keep the place clean and are expressing disgust at having to live with all the rubbish littering the village.

They list loads of dry grass, piles of waste and piles of rubble.

For turkish-speakers, here's a bit of the article...

News widely reported in the press of the Occupied Areas of a big pollution incident in "trnc"...

A system failure in a power station in Occupied Kyrenia District led to massive pollution being discharged to atmosphere in the area between Occupied Kyrenia and Occupied Agios Amvrosios, which went on for some hours before the fault was rectified.

The power station runs normally on the cheapest and dirtiest of fuel oils but the get things done on the cheap and put the savings in back-pockets Rubbish Regime of "trnc" doesn't fit filters and scrubbers to the stack to minimise pollution.

Here's the picky that featured in a report from haberkibris...

... and for turkish-speakers, a bit on the story...

..." Ekonomi ve Enerji Bakanlığı, bakanlığa bağlı Kıbrıs Türk Elektrik Kurumu bünyesindeki Teknecik Elektrik Santrali’nde bugün saat 13.00 sıralarında 1. Ünitenin kazan bölümünün yakıt hava oranını düzenleyen sistemde kablo arızası meydana gelmesiyle, çok kısa süre havaya siyah duman yayıldığı; bu nedenle sorun yaşandığını ve ünitenin devre dışı bırakıldığı açıkladı..."

Well, being stupid, one can not distinguish between the intentional and the accidental. (Blessed are the poor in spirit for they shall inherit the earth)!

Fair enough.

Ah yes, thx for reminding us RW that a few weeks ago Vordo claimed to have been deliberately and maliciously Genocided by the imaginary, never built incinerator at Lymbia.

Anyway, some remarkable pollution figures are published in yeniduzen...

... The pollution to air from this clapped out power station in "trnc" was 350 mg / m ³ of sulphur dioxide during the 4 hours of break-down.

For comparison, the USA Environmental Protection Agency gives a "safe" limit of 75 mg / m ³ over a one hour period.

The figure for this plant in "normal" operation isn't given. What is noted, however, is the lack of scrubbers and filters in the plant cos it would cost "trnc" 11 Million TL to fit them.

A little bit from yeniduzen on this for turkish-speakers...
