it has nothing to do with balls. it is obvious even to the europeans that it was a mistake. whether they come out to say so or not. privately that is exactly what they are saying. it is not rocket science to conclude that. especially after papadobullos tv bordcast where he told his people that if they vote no now they will use the influence of the eu to get a better deal. this after promising to support the agreement woke up the europeans but of course it was too late.

but of course the eu has been like a house of cards like no other in history. who would want to join a bunkrup entity like the eu with an ever aging population that will need to be fed. it seems turkey can do better outside of the eu just trading with her without the responsibilities of being a member forever increasing her contribution.
the tcs are very thankful for the eu contribution of recent years. after dancing to the gc tune for decades it was the least they could do.
so it seems like the tables have turned yet again.

Cyprus was accepted into the EU to keep Turkey out of the EU as long as the EU wanted for one, and the other was to level the political playing field between Turkey and the RoC. Why else would the EU accept the whole island into the EU and not just south of the Green Line if they felt that the island should be divided, because the EU has no intentions letting Turkey keep any part of Cyprus. Forget about all the funny talk about some morally corrupted politicians making promises to Turkey over the AP before 2004. Everyone knew that the GC would say OXI to the AP in 2004. Only Turkey thought they had a winning hand. Little Turkey knew, that the deck was fixed for the EU and the RoC to win and for Turkey to hold the empty bag, and now, it is too late to do anything about it. Turkey was told everything she wanted to hear, but on the day that really mattered, the ONLY thing that matter the most, was the OXI vote. Turkey was played for a fool with Erdogan at the helm, so by bitching now is like crying over spilled milk. The only thing Erdogan can do now, is to lick it up, because that's all he is getting while the EU gets the whole island of Cyprus and ALL it's natural resources without firing a single shot. Is that so difficult to understand?

you do make things up as you go along my friend. the reason why cyprus was accepted in the eu was because greece blackmailed them saying they will block any future enlargement unless cyprus was accepted. eu does not need cyprus to say no turkey i am sure they can do it all by themselves. lets face it all the wise politicians were fooled by papatobullos. but in a way they have done turkey a favour.

Turkey has a young population, but when compared to western norms, Turkey has about 40% unemployment where per capita is around $8,000 USD. Most of Turkey's 30 million foreign tourists are coming from the EU. At the same time, overwhelming Turks in Turkey cannot even afford to take one week family holiday in TURKEY.

The EU is crumbling under your feet and you talk of it bouncing back you try to divert the issue by claiming incomes in the EU are much higher than Turkey thats why they are better off because they can take holidays, this is the man who claimed Greeces economy was healthier than Turkeys.

You are the one who brought up that the EU is crumbling, and yet the living standards in the EU remains much higher than that of Turkey, which is the reason why you would move back to the UK with all of it's problems you claimed were the reason as to why you moved to the "trnc" at age 30, that you are now willing to go back there and not to Turkey. You have never stated you want to move to Turkey until now, just because you got caught!

Actually it was CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu who told Erdogan that the economy of Greece was better than that of Turkey, which really got Erdogan pissed. You just got your "K's" mixed up, just like everything else with you!

It was just reported that the Istanbul Stock Exchange 100 Index was the highest ever at 71,717 point. Whats new, when you have high inflation rate and Turkish Lira losing value over period of time. Despite this milestone, the total value of the companies in the 100 Index was valued at 506 Billion Turkish Liras, which when converted to US Dollars, it's about $281 Billion US Dollars. Just to put things in prospective, Apple (AAPL) has a value of $562 Billion USD today, exactly worth twice as much as one company versus the whole 100 Index companies on the ISE.

You will say absolutely anything to bring down Turkey so your comments dont amount to much, the EU is in deep shit and everyone knows it, Greece is bankrupt and begging for handouts just as the GCs are doing Trokya arent there on holiday, Spain is on the verge of collapse follwed by many other EU nations, so dont give me all this baloney about how living in the EU is far better than Turkey, you can manipulate figures to tell you what you wish look at Greece and how they cooked the books.

The issue her eis that Merkel is not denyng what Erdoğan said and that in itself is a confession that the EU view the GCs as a big headache, a thorn in the side of the dieing old man called Europe...how on earth do you expect them to come out and say what a mess they made accepting a troubled divided island where 37% of the land is not under the control of the GCs.
