Some postings claim the Player was killed by the device.

There is liitle new in this- flares have been thrown before - but this a particularly nasty attack

Close the games to fans and TV.

not me - the fans who throw flares, etc.

Until the clubs enforce proper crowd control and that includes ensuring anyone who turns up to specatate cannot get in with weaponary like flares and banning anyone who even tries, they should shut the grounds : only the teams, the manager, coach, team physio/first aid staff, and match officials should be allowed in. No TV crew, no owners, no-one else.
