The problem is that the Germans have never accepted that they lost WWII. They still believe they should rule Europe, if not the World.

I have to agree with GR that you are an idiot if you say there was no economic downtime after the war!

It's typical ignorance of the residents of remote villages of northern Paphos who only discovered a Turkish invasion took place when they finally bothered to turn on the only TV they had at the local Kafenio sometime in September!

I'm not interested in money - but I know how much a previously worthless piece of Paphos agricultural land would fetch pre-1974, and then suddenly what it would command (still does) post 1974.

As I've said before, this is probably due to outside influences working to make the typical Cypriot content and less likely to seek a solution to the CyProb. My impression was that you were all pretty happy a few years ago when things were booming but it's only now, in global economic difficulties, that you are all suddenly anti-Greek. Hypocrites! Charlatans.

Well you can talk about your property gaining value but that of 180,000 odd refugees had completely vanished let alone gain anything!

I was right the first time you’re an idiot!

Unscathed by either of the Greek or Turkish invasions, you’re a typical insensitive, ignorant, and selfish Paphian peasant!

Actually, make that a northern Paphian peasant which is even worse!

Not that its relevant to what we were talking about here Kurupet, but if you buy that book you’ll find it only contains ONE page that reads:

For just $30 please see our other publication: “Ancient Slavic tribes now called Greek”

If Germany owes that much to Greece then imagine how much it owes to Russia, Poland, France, United States, Britain, and even the Jewish State of Israel.

Germany would be the most bankrupt country in the world.

Germany has in any case met its WW2 obligations from the Potsdam Treaty in 1945 regarding war reparations to the allies, and was even partitioned and occupied by the Soviet Union and Unted States for over 5 decades.

I'm not talking about individual's fortunes but the economy of the country as a whole. I still maintain this was allowed, by outside powers, to happen because they made (more) people too content with the status quo. Our government should be taxing us a hell of a lot more.
