 Greeks are one of the many Slavic tribes which occupy the Balkan region that includes Romanians, Bulgarians, Hungarians and Albanians… they are all the same!

Their dances are the same (round and around they go) their music is the same, their cuisine is the same, and their traditional attire is the same!

Cyprus has its own unique music, unique dancing, unique traditional attire, unique vocabulary, unique cuisine, unique customs,

There’s just no comparison between Cypriots and Balkan tribes so please!

Piratis, I think you are CLUELESS of the true Cypriot culture because you’ve been so engrossed with Greece/Greeks that you missed it altogether!

You’re not Cypriot to me mate! :)

I lived the Cypriot culture where Cypriots would dance the “Drebani” (sickle) “Datcha” (sift) “Sousta”, etc, and women would dance the “Gartzilamas” (garzin-garzin means opposite each other for those who don’t understand Cypriot like you) and they had NOTHING to do with Greece dude! :)

You're not a Cypriot but here are some real ones.

Piratis, why don’t you show us an official globally accepted authentic map from any date in history that depicts and labels Cyprus as a Greek island!

The vast majority of the population of Cyprus are Greek and this is how it has been for a long long time. If Cyprus is not part of the modern Greek Republic is only because our right for self-determination was denied to us by the British and the Turks, who used their armies to prevent Cyprus from being free so they could continue to exploit our island on our expense.

None of the maps above were made by Cypriots or Greeks.

These are language maps labeled “race” maps or they wouldn’t include parts of Turkey! <- Are you trying to tell Turks something?

It is for the same reason that the whole Cyprus is labeled Greeek, not just the south part. That map was before the genocides and ethnic cleasnig that the Turks commited against us.

Unfortunately you are so ignorant that you don't even know basic facts of history.

Show me a geographic map that presents Cyprus as being a Greek island under the administration of Greece!

[/quote]

How is the administration relevant? Cyprus was under many foreign empires (just like mainland Greece and other Greeek islands) and our ethnicity doessn't change based on who the foreign occupier is.

On the contrary, the fact that we maintained our ethnic identity under so many foreign rulers for centuries proves how Greek we are.

So Cyprus which has constant natural borders, was part of the cradle of civilization, and has undisputed ancient settlements going back 12,000 years is NOT entitled to have a “ethnicity” but Greece which was born yesterday (1830s) does!

Get out of it!

Maybe you should show us the shop Greece went and bought her ethnicity from so we can buy one too because it seems to me someone is handing them out at good prices for political reasons

If Greece was born yesterday then Cyprus was born a minute ago (1960). It is quite obvious that you are not able to make a reasonable argument and you are just talking nonsense as usual.

I understand none of you have Greek passports and/or IDs so there is nothing legal to support your claims so how did you attain this "hellenic" status while being born and raised in another country some 1,000Km away from Greece?

Take it step by step...

For the sake of argument, the Greek diaspora really don't need a Greek passport per se as citizenship by blood assures it anyway. So I dont get your point. But again, this is you making this point and you've proven to be clueless just about on everything including where to stick it in if you were to come across a female stupid enough to want to have sex with you.

You can yammer away how the Kyperoi aren't Greek but which other Greek actually supports you? None. You are the lone idiot, so stupid in real life that you've found a voice, albeit as one everyone laughs at, in this forum where you carry on as a court jester. Not even the Turks, your buddies, doubt the Kyperoi as being Greeks. Even the British interlopers, despite their anti-Hellenism stance, admit what the majority are. Good example in yet another thread I started that the admins locked, Jerry stated to me: "one of your nominated "limeys" is 100% Greek Cypriot". Wow, only you and your fellow moron, Mr Ed, actually deny the obvious.  That's not surprising.

Mr Barouti, may I suggest you desist from representing Turkish thought on what they might or might not think of the Kypreos. You have made one mistake already for which I will ignore. BTW, why do you have a Turkish sounding surname? :D

It’s true! The Greek men can’t even dance! We have our all-male dances with the sickle, the stacked up glasses, the sift dance, the chair dance, and similar that they’ve never seen before! All Greek men ever do is go round an around like women… there’s no comparison!

We’re cool Cypriots baby!!! :)
