I understand none of you have Greek passports and/or IDs so there is nothing legal to support your claims so how did you attain this "hellenic" status while being born and raised in another country some 1,000Km away from Greece?

Take it step by step...

How about the RoC Constitution?

Under the constitution the Greek Cypriot community comprises all citizens of Greek origin.

Are we talking passports again? Because I know a few Brits, born abroad, thousands of miles away who only recently became "Cypriot" by virtue of paying for a passport and nothing more!

You can get a Cypriot Nationality just as you can get a Greek Nationality fairly easily - (I also know a few Brits who are now Greek) - but the ethnicity remains the same (e.g. useful when a GP asks from where one originates, to exclude various conditions and be sensitive to cultural factors). Most people know what their own ethnicity happens to be. It may not be the same as the Nationality.

That's what I say also ... Cyprus should have united with Greece like all Greek islands! What some foreign fuckers did in 1960 does not make anything right. But at least they made it clear in the constitution that taking away our right for union with Greece does not mean that we are not Greek. Now the neo-Ottomans and neo-Colonialists are trying to take that from us also  You can go fuck yourselves ;)

Ok, so where did you get this ethnicity from?

Did you buy it at a shop?

Was it in a fortune cookie?

Did you find it in a gobstopper?

Is it a certificate handed out to you?

Did you win it in a competition?

Did you find it lying on the floor somewhere?

It's in our blood boy, and you or anyone else cannot take it away from us.

Our native language, religion and traditions are all Greek and have remained Greek despite us having foreign rulers for hundreds of years.

So how did your blood get infected? :?

Your true language is Cypriot, your religion is Christian Orthodox, and your traditions are Cypriot!

We have a problem again... :?

round and round we go: certainly some of the research suggests the Majority of Cypriots can trace most of thir ancestery back to the peoples who ultimately permanantly setted the Island probably in 7000 bc or so, as parts of waves of peoples heading west from the cradle of civilisation in the Tigris and Euphrates river sytems.

The stories of Cyprus being settled by heros of the Trojan war are definitely an invention as the Greek invasion seem to have happened probably 150 years after the war ended and the myth was probably created to give the rulers a bit of cred bearing in mindsome of the heroes were allgedely descended from the Gods.
