First, they gave them the perfect excuse to invade in 1974 and now an excuse for them to push for a partionist agenda as these actions by a bunch of numbnuts only demonstrate that they want to subordinate Cyprus to Greece.

Oh really!

Dumb Greek wannabes, whatever that means.

Yes there was a Coup but that does not make us blameless or free of any responsibilities for creating this mess.

Please grow up!

A Greek wannabe is a Cypriot who has been brainwashed by successive generations, the education system and the church into believing that they are Greek, when in fact they nothing like the Greeks that reside in a country called Greece, even their DNA is different.

They deny their rich and unique Cypriot history, culture, cuisine, language, customs, music, religion and attitude, claiming that it does not exist and that it's just part of the wider Greek culture, when in fact our colonisation by successive empires plays a great part on who we are today.

Such is the level of brainwashing, that they refuse to learn from history, in particular our disasterous dealings with modern Greece, both in relation to the '74 invasion and the current economic crisis and like the clowns hoisting the flag in the video, would readily hit the self-destruct button to destroy Cyprus by attempting to sub-ordinate Cyprus to Athens rule and in-turn inviting the Turks in.

The Cypriots never had it so good after the TCs privileges were removed in '63, with full democracy with the blessing of the UN, but the Greek wannabes wrecked that.

So how do you categorize just normal Greek Cypriot folk who do not deny their unique culture, language, customs, history, cuisine and religion but still believe they have an affinity to Greekness?

I am not referring to the idiots from ELAM that raised that huge Greek Flag but just normal common Cypriot folk.

Are the 'Greek Wannabes'?

I wouldn't go as far as enosis now... we can have two Greek states. This seems best... for now at least!

Do not complain than when you see everyday TRNC flag on the fivefingers mountains.....people like you deserved it.....(not all the GC's)......

The 'trnc' flag is illegal Halil, and therefore violates our 1960 constitution. Even if you used a Turkish flag, you would have to hoist it in a private TC-owned property and not Pentadaktylos.

Most of the things are illegal in Cyprus....including so called Cyprus Parliment....as long as these illegalities goes over and over in Cyprus these arguments will go and go...1960 consitution also says Turkish is also official language of the republic...and these illegal even did not noticed by EU....and u are accepting the illegalities to end in north.... only solution of the Cyprus problem will end all these arguments....

Jan 1 - Jun 30, 1970................By the early 1970s, Cyprus was effectively a partitioned country with Makarios as legal president of the country, but de facto president of the Greek side.

Everything that the British gave you in 1960 you wanted to increase many-fold. But the RoC took Cyprus into the EU for a clean start. Without Turks! :)

Cap wrote:If enosis ever happened with Greece, how many of you would fight for independence?
ONLY the locals would revolt against an Athens administration or emigrate entirely , the diaspora would still carry on dreaming about some fantasy pan Hellenic utopia.

If the big mouthed ex pat Cyp's living abroad had any idea of how much damage Cyprus has endured due to Greek exposure they'd change their tune very quickly.
They come for a holiday every once in a blue moon, take in the sunshine and smile at the natural beauty of the land. Then go back to their meritocratic Anglo civilizations and flaunt their suntans.

Let me tell you from experience, MANY have tried repatriating and many have FAILED, they go back to where they came from with a different outlook on 'Greek' Cyprus.

Reality sucks for you, eh. So you've invented your own neo-Cypriot fantasy land, so detached from the reality of Cyprus that all you have is this forum to promote it where the Turks and British interlopers applaud you. Because in the real world, that be everyday Cyprus, they'll dismiss you as nothing more than a village idiot.
