A lot of angry words in various topics, about the Greeks and the Turks. I have to admit that i have sometimes agreed with some of the stuff that has been posted on this site ( they are just my thoughts and feelings) But i really can't say that every Turk is rotten to the core, just as i would defend anyone saying it about the Greeks.
i do understand most of it is political, but i have noticed it gets very personal to the point of bulling ( from both sides)
so was just thinking if we could say something positive about each other?

You will not be slated by me. An excellent sentiment. Most of the individual Turks and Greeks I have met have bee charming - very hospitable.

So was Rauf Denktash I am told!

Yes, heard much the same... a mild, mannered, polite, considerate and very hospitable man... who kept budgies and was a keen photographer

... 'til the total and sudden change to intolerance, venom and hostility when the matter of CyProb was raised in a conversation.

yes but he is a politician - and they dont count. They nearly always come across as being a nice guy - look at that Andrew Mitchell? When I met him (quite a few times) about 20 years ago as he was starting in serious politics contesting unwinnable seats for the Tories he came across as a lovely bloke - now look at him being rude to Policemen just for doing their job.On yer bike! All politicians (as well as most notorious criminals) start their lives as simple citizens don't they? So, what counts, is not what people appear to be when they are simple individuals, but the real self which they hide inside them and which surfaces when the time comes. Give them power and/or a gun and see how they use them!

Fantastic sentiments behind this thread, so I applaud the person behind it.

Unfortunately, good will, intelligence and vision is in short supply on both sides, but I will go as far to say that the Turkish side is hell bent on partition and it will not change from this stance unless it's position becomes too costly to her other interests or objectives.

very good point about the politicians, they are just legal notorious criminals who gets the citizens to pull the trigger for them. often the power goes to their head as they become a god in their own glass house looking through the window of the devastation that is caused through their greed .
In the meanwhile the innocent suffer, no wonder the europeans are rioting in the streets trying to fight for the rights of the people. there has been a lot of unrest happening as people have had enough of the governments and all the lies that spin out if the mouths of these lizards!

I think it'll be easier finding your missing dad than tackling the CyProb so spend your energy on that.
