Why are Greeks racist against Turks?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Fisherman2006 wrote:All who have just spoke on behalf of the Greek Cypriots I applaud you. Lets not forget there are no such thing as Turkish-Cypriots, THere are Turks and there are cypriots. This summer I visited Northeren Cyprus in an effort to see what they took from us. I HAd to pay to enter my own country, the country they took away from me. I had to pay to go to the bathroom, i had to bear the sight of what they did to our land. All the beautiful scenery is dirt and weeds with big houses built over them all for money purposes. Streets, buldings, cafes all dirty. THey have ruined the northeren part of our country. The only thing that remains are the beautiful mountains and the beautiful ocean that surrounds it, the ocean the god granted CYPRUS.

Please don't lie, I go to the North many times a year, sometimes 3 times a week, more than most although less than some, I'm sure. You HAD to pay for car insurance, not for yourself, while the current state of affairs persists I don't think this is unreasonable, if a Turkish Cypriot has an accident while driving in the South I hope he is also insured by a GC company, imagine a cross border insurance battle?

I'd rather pay (30 cents is a lot?) to use the toilet on Kyrenia harbourside than use the free one I used near the Holiday Inn recently...UGH!

Look at what we are doing in the South, walk between Kapparis and Protaras on the coast path, see the abandoned fridges, building debris, general rubbish and hypodermic needles laying about, look at how we are building slums for the future, apartment blocks so close together nobody will see sunshine, so badly built that they will be mould infested holes within 10 years... And some of our cafes and restaurants could do with a bloody good clean as well!

The beautiful mountains have a fair share of garbage strewn around as well, and the sea isn't the crystal waters it used to be.

But lets not nitpick, and lets be honest, CYPRIOTS are pretty good at fucking up a good thing, aren't they?

Are you serious?I certainly would've lost what little hair I have left.
But in moments of contemplation I do like to adapt that famous Oscar Wilde saying "To lose one Wife might be considered a misfortune,to lose two seems like carelessness." it sums up my situation.

Oscar Wild stole his whole persona from “Saki”, Hector Hugh Munro.

Sorry Birkibrisli, Trying to think before I was fully awake. I gave you some mis-information there. Worried you though didn't I. Got my dates wrong.

Long time since I read "Saki" but look into it. Good read.

"A little inaccuracy sometimes saves tons of explanations." (from The Square Egg, 1924) Although in my case quite the opposite.

Somewhere in the back of my head are the words "Wilde got his flamboyance in later life from saki???????

Good morning,Zan. :D
Thanks for the link.Have you read any of his books? Can you recommend any?He certainly sounds like an interesting character. We don't have the likes of him or Oscar Wilde these days.Perhaps Gore Vidal comes close.
Check him out if you haven't already. He is Al Gore's uncle, but an entirely different kettle of fish :!:
