Why are Greeks racist against Turks?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

when it comes to jokes...
i believe that before making one , one that could be offensive, one should first know his audience.
some people even swear at each others mothers and laugh about it, some others fight over it.
its matter of tolerance or stupidity.

like in german, would find a joke over the jews funny, it doesnt matter how funny it is.

humor its a very difficult thing.
if someone slips and falls and you laugh that doesnt mean that u have humor, if you slip and fall and then laugh then indeed you have humor.
and a small trick in case you are in situation where people make jokes about you. usually they make them because they know your reaction.they make them bc they know that you mind. an easy way to get over that situation is you yourself to exagguarate what they make fun of you. then they ll realise that you dont mind, and find someone else to tease

Dear Eric dayi. It could be because you wrote it in Turkish (you know the language that it used to be arabic and Mr Kemal changed it to Latin as if he was embarrased) and since nobody understands Turkish (and frankly speaking nobody wants to) nobody understands your jokes

This is just a personal view but I think the two most guttural sounding languages in the world have to be Greek and German. Out of the two dialects, the Cypriot Greek is the better of the two. I don’t know if it is actually the language it self or the tone one has to adapt in order to speak it. The reason I say that is because I can just about bare the men speaking the two languages but the women tend to sound more like transvestites. As far as Turkish goes, the Cypriot dialect is a good honest farming community language. The prettiest of the dialects has got to be Istanbul, which is very like French. Some of the outer regions still use some of the guttural sounds of the Arabic past. By far the most musical and demonstrative language in the world has to be Italian. But I would rather screech like an Arab than babble like a Greek. (Slightly grey humour).

First of all, arabic is one of the most elegant and beautiful languages spoken by 220 million in the wold.

Second of all, turkish and arabic are as related as latin and greek.

Third of all, Ataturk did not change the language, he just changed the alphabet. Turkic people do not have one unified alphabet some use the latin, other the cyrillic and some others the arabic script.

Turkish is the 7th most spoken language in the world, some 200 million use this language in Turkey, Azerbaijan, Turkemenistan, Tataristan, Northern Iran, Germany, Bulgaria, even Northern Greece. On the other hand Greek is spoken by the 10 millions Greeks in greece, the 10 million greek diaspora and some 10 million foreiners at best, which accounts to 30 million people in total, hardly comparable to turkish at all.

Let me get this straight, what you are saying is that out of all the *sensible* posters in this forum you are the only one who understands my Turkish language writing and therefor the only one who understands my "black humour"? hmmmm....you really don't think very highly of yourself, do you?

Don't put yourself down all the time mate, it doesn't do your self image much good.

Oh, BTW, why is Greeklish very much the "in" thing amongst the Greeks at the mo, is it because they are ermmm...embarrassed about the Greek alphabet or something, hmmmmm?
