Work in Limassol

Postby martinicz » Tue Sep 04, 2012 7:33 pm

Hello,

I am going to Limassol with my girfriend. She will work here so I am wondering how hard is find a job (for me) in Limassol these days (ending season & crisis).
I think jobs in Hotels or any other related jobs (I am currently working in IT as Technical support but i know that with non-native ENG will be hard to find job in this sector)

Thank you.

With nearly 11% unemployment jobs in most sectors are probably rare.

The unemployment rate is even higher, because the above figure only includes people who have been employed before.

It also does not include those who have been unemployed for over six months and don't bother to sign on because they don't get any money!

Hi,

the office I work for always looks for customer support staff, with a good level of English (you don't need to be native) and min. another language. Let me know if interested at [email protected]

What is the turnover rate/average length of service?

I live in Limassol.I do not often eat out, but have had lunch in the tourist area of Limassol twice in the past few weeks. On both occasions I was served by a young Eastern-European waitress, so obviously some foreigners are managing to find seasonal work here in the hospitality sector. There are a lot of Russian tourists in Limassol this summer, so I would imagine that somebody reasonably fluent in Russian+English+Greek would stand a fair chance of finding such work.I doubt if the pay is very attractive, though.

Hi Tim

These places need staff and I suspect that they cannot find Cypriot staff, at least not at the wages the East-Europeans will work for.
