I don't understand what the Turks stand to gain by this. At the moment, there is no 'war', per se, in that two or more sides are fighting gun battles, etc., so there is a kind of peace. The island Turks have got what they wanted in the fact that Turkey is their protector, governor and saviour and they are (because they have to be) totally reliant on it. What could possibly be gained from tying-up relations with the racist, fascist and untrustworthy Greek Cypriots?

No, she is a socialist.

Maria Farantouri was an elected member of the Greek Parliament from 1989-1993 representing the Panhellenic Socialist Movement (PASOK).

Standing next to a Turk is one thing; but as I said earlier, do not expect either to perform in the Turkish Occupied Territory of Cyprus! (Although, you seem desperate to get some interest by using their names - I might have to let them know of this defamation...)

"At a peace march held in Larnaca to condemn Turkey's occupation of parts of Cyprus, the presence of British Bases on the island and NATO's bombing of Yugoslavia, Theodorakis addresses participants."
