CallSat Telecom, one of the leading independent telecom firms of Cyprus has launched its Telephone Directory Inquiries service with the number 11–8–33, offering three new features, where company officials believe will help them break into CyTA’s lock on the market.
Aghis Panaretou, Chairman & Managing Director of CallSat Telecom said during a news conference that the new CallSat Directory service will cost 17c, irrespective of whether the call is placed from a mobile or fixed line.
Panaretou says in addition to the fact that the 11-8-33 service costs 1.3c less than CyTA?s 192 service, which will soon change to 11-8-92 in line with the liberalisation of the market, there are new features that will make the service attractive.
Through the new service, every Cypriot throughout Cyprus will be able to call the number 11–8–33 from any phone to get fast and correct any directory information information, irrespective of the fact that they are Call Sat customers or not.
Additionally, the new service 11–8–33 will allow to the calling party to ask for a second number for the person or company of which the first number was requested, at no additional cost.
Moreover, very soon 11–8–33 will provide its customers the facility of call completion, thus allowing the consumer to ask from the Call Center to call for him or her the requested number, at a small additional extra fee, which at the moment is waived. Callers may also opt to receive the information via SMS on their mobile phones at no extra cost, while soon, then will also be able to make inquiries for subscribers in Greece and the UK.
Panaretou said CallSat secured the contents of its Directory service from CyTA, with the list now being updated once every week. “We are paying them a fee according to the terms of the market deregulation as set by the Telecom Regulator,” said Panaretou.
