Ignorant question?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Ignorant question?

Postby thetruth » Fri Aug 31, 2012 10:14 pm

Hi there,

been on the forum a few times over the years for various reason and thought it was the best place to ask such a question...

my greek cypriot family now live in London and have done since the 60s apart from some great aunts and grandparents who live near Paphos still in
refugee villages. 100 years of age etc,,.

im the younger generation and am looking for answers to some questions, the main one being, our family had to move from Agios Sergios and Akanthou i think they were called, what
happens to this land / crumbled property? Id like to know on behalf of the family any help would be hugely appreciated. And what can be done about reclaiming it if that term exists in this obviously complex problem?

thanks

See the Orams case. Find out if anybody is using your property and then you can sue them for a lot of money. If you ask the Turks they will just give you pennies to shut you up and avoid the law suit... don't do that.

It involves an effort which basically equals to time and money in order to get a result which may not necessarily be a desirable one.

See someone else's attempt...

The land/property in question is yours the truth, nothing has happened to change that,... but it is important that the CY Land Registry is kept informed of changes of ownership by way of such things as inheritances.

So urge the older members of the family to decide who they want to leave property to, get them to draw up wills so that at the appropriate times the claims from the younger generation can be registered with the CY Land Registry. This can only be done in CY with GB documents (wills, death certificates etc) that have been affirmed in front of and by a Notary and also checked and stamped at the CY High Commission in London.

The parents can transfer the property now without the need of wills. Probate costs in cyp are a Ripmoff. Rules made by lawyers to feed lawyers. Come to cy, goto land registry transfer now. End of.
If you want to get compensation, you have to apply to the illegal IPC, a turkish run mafia outfit who will offer you peanuts for it. If you do not accept the offer you can then apply to the equally corrupt ECHR, all taking many years to get heard. Deadline for the IPC application is dec 2012.
Good luck
