Look ladies and gents. What should worry you is not what they really are. It's that even communist elder citizens, in the problematic areas of Athens, consider them to be a blessing. Cause they offer to them the feeling of security that the Greek State fails to offer them. They can go and collect their pension from the bank accompanied by GD and they can go to the local market and shop or to the pharmacy to buy their medicine, not being worried that they will be mugged or killed on the way.
And apartment owners, which were rented to illegal immigrants who were not paying the rents for months, and who (the owners) could not get them evicted because it takes a couple of years under the Greek legislative system to issue and enforce an eviction, all they have to do now is call the GD. Problem solved in no time at all. I learned, just today, that even lawyers are using their relevant "services"!!!!!!! For free.
